Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is a protected natural environment just south of Tulum. Mayan for 'where Heaven is born', It covers an area of 530,000 hectares (approximately 2,000 square miles) around Bahia de la Ascencion. This reserve is home to nearly every kind of wildlife you can find in the region, including jaguars, howler monkeys, raccoons, tapirs, crocodiles, sea turtles, manatees, and various birds like toucans, pelicans, and thousands more. Sian Ka'an is excellent for bird watching. As you enter the reserve, the unpaved road is surrounded by fan palms called 'chit'.

Along the way lie long stretches of beautiful beach. At the end of the road, around 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the entrance to the reserve, is Punta Allen, a fishing village and a tranquil town to relax.

On the way to Punta Allen, there is a place called Boca Paila, a must stop point to watch birds and the occasional crocodile from the bridge. This excursion will be on board a Jeep, which will be part of a convoy. At the end of the road, we will arrive at Punta Allen, where we will have a light lunch before boarding the boat.
